Merino Wool Warm Newborn Hat Balaclava
23,00€
A warm newborn hat in pure merino wool with two soft layers. It covers the head, ears, neck and upper chest, stays close without bulky ties and helps keep your baby comfortable in cold weather.
A warm newborn hat should protect more than the top of a baby’s head. This newborn winter hat is a double-layer merino wool balaclava that covers the ears, neck, and upper chest without a separate scarf.
Pure merino wool helps maintain warmth while allowing heat and moisture to move away from the skin. The close-fitting shape stays in place during walks, naps and baby-carrier use, reducing gaps where cold air can enter.
Newborn winter hat for cold weather
The double layer gives this merino baby balaclava extra warmth while keeping it light and flexible. It fits beneath a snowsuit or hood without creating thick knots around the neck. This warm newborn hat is practical for young babies needing one secure layer that moves with the head.
Warm newborn hat balaclava: why parents value this design:
✔ covers the head, ears, neck, and upper chest;
✔ uses two layers of pure merino wool;
✔ helps regulate warmth and manage moisture;
✔ stays close without slipping or opening at the neck;
✔ usually needs airing more often than washing.
Warm baby balaclava with a secure fit
Correct fit is important. The lower edge must sit under the baby’s chin, not on it. The balaclava should lie close to the head, as shown. If it is too loose, it may not turn with the baby’s head and could move towards the face.
Size 1 measures 38 cm and is intended from birth to about six months. From three months, size 2 may fit better.
Size 2 is 44 cm,
Size 3 is 54 cm,
Size 4 is 58 cm.
Always measure the child’s head before ordering.
Choosing the right size
The fit is correct when one finger can slide between the head and fabric while the material still has a gentle stretch. Worn properly beneath the chin, this warm newborn hat moves with the child and keeps the face clear.

No. We do not recommend tumble drying merino wool. For best results, allow the garment to dry naturally.
Some pilling may occur, especially when the fabric rubs against synthetic materials or rough surfaces. Any pills can be gently removed with a wool comb or fabric shaver suitable for wool.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 means the fabric has been tested for harmful substances and is suitable for wearing close to the skin.
Mulesing-free means the wool comes from sheep that have not undergone the mulesing procedure, making it a more animal-friendly choice.
